FROBISHER

Frobisher came to our shelter from the pound. He is such an affectionate and handsome young adult!  He purrs immediately when you pick him up and doesn’t try to get away. He loves to cuddle.  Frobisher would do great in a home with kids.  He is a very gentle and loyal cat.

We are looking for a good home for Percy. He is 8 months old and in good health.

History

We were at a funeral in a rural Northern Community for about 3 days.  Every time we went to the church there was this dog who was at the front doors.  He was so cold that he looked like he had something wrong with his hind legs because they were tucked under him and he had a difficult time walking.  He was also very skinny and it was freezing out there.  The funeral we were at was for our great Uncle Percy who had a stroke and had been in a wheelchair for years.  The thing he would have cared about most was this dog outside of the church so we got permission to take him with us, our intention was to bring him to the vet and get him looked at.  We named the dog Percy after our Uncle.

Vet

We brought him to the vet as soon as we got back to the city.  Percy was very malnourished and underweight.  It ended up that his legs were frozen and his tail had frozen off, so there was nothing wrong with his hips….thank goodness.  He had worms so we have given him two treatments and the vet said he is free and clear of worms now.  We were going to get him neutered but the vet was not comfortable with Percy going through surgery being so underweight.  We had to bring him back to the vet because Percy had very bad diarrhea, he was not used to eating regularly and the puppy food was too rich for his system.  Medication was given to settle his stomach.  We have brought Percy back to the vet for a third time because he had scratched his ear, it ended up he had an ear infection.  We have given him eardrops and he is not scratching anymore.

Playing

Percy had no idea how to play when we first brought him home.  It took about a week for him to get the strength to even walk around.  He is still working on fetching  but he now knows how to play with stuffed animals and toys.  Because Percy is still a puppy he now wants to run and play A LOT, unfortunately we don’t have a back yard so we can’t just let him loose.  If he had his way he would stay outside all afternoon.  We have a Yorkie who is 6 years old.   Percy would love nothing more than to play with Teddy but Teddy will have nothing to do with him, which makes for a very long and miserable day for both of the dogs.

Training

Percy comes when you call his name.  He has had 3 accidents since November.  Twice was when we he was eating regularly, with the combination of puppy food, malnourished and the deworming pills Percy had severe diarrhea and couldn’t hold it to get outside.  The third time was last night, we fed him some chicken from our supper…..not a good idea…diarrhea.  When he wants to go outside he nips at you instead of barking.  Which is a big surprise in the middle of the night when he needs to go outside.  He sits, stays on command.  When he is left at home for more than a few hours we have to close the doors because he does chew shoes, mitts, carpet runners but he is still a puppy after all.

I think I have covered everything.  The reason we are looking for a home for Percy is because we have recently had a heavier work/school schedule and cannot be home for at least 8 hours a day.  Percy needs training, feeding, walks and freedom.  We just can’t give him that right now.  We have become very attached to Percy but we feel he needs a family that can give him more attention than we can.  As I am writing this at work he is by my feet sleeping.  Percy is a great dog who needs a lot of love and attention.

MOCHA

FINNEGAN

Finnegan came into our shelter after he was found and rescued at a dump, along with 3 other puppies. He is very thin and will benefit from a good diet, and get some meat on those cute little bones of his!  Finnegan is just a little cuddly sweetheart who has had such a rough start to his life and has now been given a second chance.

LUCAS

Lucas is a cute and cuddly little puppy who was sadly found living at a dump with 3 other puppies, one of which is his brother Finnegan.   Although he is shy, he will come out of his shell in no time and his true colors will be shining brightly! He is currently in foster care.

BROOKLYN

Brooklyn is a very timid puppy who was sadly found living at a dump with 3 other puppies.  She is currently in foster care.  She is a sweet girl who needs lots of tender love care!

DEXTER

Dexter is a very shy young fella who was sadly found living at a dump with 3 other puppies. He is in need a lot of love and socialization. He is currently in foster care.

SIDNEY

Sidney came to our shelter from the pound. He is such a cuddly and affectionate cat. He loves attention and loves to be held. He is an overall sweetheart that is going to make such a wonderful companion.
